From Design to Design Thinking

by Marty Crossland on November 5, 2009

I have recently become an amateur student of design. I am trying to build the concepts of design, and now design thinking, into the courses I create and teach for my students.

Author and designer Tim Brown recently address the TED conference (www.ted.com) on the idea of moving from “design” (focusing on creating things) to “design thinking” (creating important ideas about problems and opportunities) by employing the tools and processes of design to human problems and human needs. I hope you enjoy this 18-minute video as much as I did.
